Hockey News! Special Edition Vol: 2.04

Twenty-third posting of the news articles from the Beer and Pretzel Hockey League written by the beat writer that covers the league.  He calls himself Dickie Dunn - his true identity is unknown.

Greetings hockey fans and welcome to another absolutely SEN-SATIONAL article of Hockey News BPHL: Special Edition Vol: 2.4.  Silver team came out of the gates hot on Monday night.  How hot? Let's just say it was above 1,948°F (1,064°C) because GOLD team started MELTING at the drop of the puck.

With Gold turning soft like a dump in the corner, Silver was up 3-0 through the first period.  The increased intensity from Gold was palpable, but still Griff and the Silver D preserved the shutout.  Gold got back within a single goal in the 2nd period but that was as close as they would come.  Silver fought off the mounting frustrations and buried a few more pucks midway through the third to ice the victory.  They even added a couple more (Gold-style) when the game was out of reach to make the victory 10-4 (although the website has it incorrect).  If Silver team was like Gold, they'd make the Slattery Design team fix it, but thank the hockey gods they are not.

A couple of younger Gold players thought they were playing for 8th place in the NCHC (like they probably were last season) and started taking out their frustrations on the wrong grizzled veteran, Dustin Gangelhoff.  After a few choice words, the young bucks were reminded that all leagues lead the BPHL.  At least they have played a "meaningful" hockey game in their careers.  That and $5 will get you a latte down at Starbucks.

Stars of the Game
1) Griffith Watson
2) Riley Alferd
3) Alex Blankenburg

Silver has the second of the home and home with Gold starting at RALSTON TONIGHT at 9:45 PM.  Silver extended its win streak against Gold to two games, which is a franchise record.  It'll be interesting to see the crowd turnout on HALLOWEEN night.  Free tickets if you wear a costume.

Remember, Dickie Dunn wrote this, so it's gotta be true
