Twenty-second posting of the news articles from the Beer and Pretzel Hockey League written by the beat writer that covers the league. He calls himself Dickie Dunn - his true identity is unknown.
Greetings hockey fans and welcome to another spectacular article of Hockey News BPHL: Special Edition Vol: 2.3. Silver team followed up the season opening loss with a solid win (5-2) against league newcomer, Teal. The victory came despite playing against White team's goaltender (arguably the 3rd best net-minder in the league behind Silver's tandem), against which Silver only managed 2 markers just three days prior.
A few familiar faces were over on the Teal side (some of the 2018 Purple team) along with a couple new faces. Overall, Teal made a good impression during their Silver team debut regarding the overall demeanor, especially in comparison to some previous teams entrance into the league.
In recent memory, any team new to the league has come in with a fire lit under their rear ends and visions of eternal glory, domination, and a league championship easily within their grasp. It only takes about 2.5 weeks of play (funny enough that's the same time it takes to play each team once) for those visions, dreams, and aspirations to be forever crushed into oblivion. This dream crushing has often led to frustration which in turn shifted to anger that manifested itself on the ice in the form of complete "gooning-it-up" and overall lack of respect for the fellow league members. Only time will tell if Teal can manage to keep it respectable despite getting the shit kicked out of them for 37 more games.

Silver opens a home and home with Gold in the season's first PRECIOUS METALS GAME starting at RALSTON TONIGHT at 8:45 PM. Gold will obviously be looking for revenge after ending last regular season poorly against Silver. Silver claimed the all-important Superior Metal status, which is all the Gold team members have been thinking about for the past 6 months. If you don't recall how that game went, please take a trip down memory lane and read HERE. If you think the O/U for tonight is a bit high, it is still 4.5 goals less than what was scored during the previous contest.
Remember, Dickie Dunn wrote this, so it's gotta be true
