Greetings Hockey fans! Coming at you as fast and furious as Tom Schaffer trying to chase down Harris on a breakaway, it's the first Hockey News BPHL: Special Edition. Silver took on Gold in the Battle of superior metal on Monday and the game started off quickly in favor of Silver, netting a 2-0 lead. Gold quickly answered back to tie and eventually take the lead.
Silver responded in kind by tying and regaining the lead themselves and held a 6-4 advantage at the first intermission. The goal scoring pace posed an immediate threat to the Over/Under total of 23.5. The under bettors breathed a sigh of relief as the 2nd period scoring pace brought the total to 17. Meanwhile, Gold had also shown some life. Led by the feisty Frenchmen, David "Frog Pussy" Brisson, Gold took a 10-7 lead into the 3rd.
Gold held on for a victory with Silver never mounting much of a comeback. The lead was always at least 3 goals and the final official score was 16-12 to Au. Some speculation was noted when a nameless source was certain that Silver was given a phantom goal and the scorekeeper, Flame-ON, didn't count some of Gold's goals. These points were highly contested during the post-game celebration at "Winners." Silver was the only team there despite their role in the game outcome. "Winning" may have a slightly different definition for that team. The crane machine was still empty from the prior Thursday when Jeff "KETO" Evans emptied it out in preparation for Valentine's Day.
Silver looks to bounce back with a win tonight against Purple. That's 9:45 at the Ralston Arena. Good seats are still available. Big Country will be in attendance because he desperately wants to join the roster and his wife lives in Oklahoma.
Remember, Dickie Dunn wrote this so it's gotta be true
