This is the 103rd posting of the news articles from the Beer and Pretzel Hockey League written by the beat writer that covers the league. He calls himself Dickie Dunn - his true identity is unknown.
Greetings hockey fans and welcome to another SICK edition of Hockey News BPHL: Special Edition Vol: 5.02. Silver opened up the season this week against the hated rival Black team. If you happened to catch the season preview article, you'll know that Silver has a brand new look from top to bottom. Not all the new talent made their Silver debut in the season opener.
Silver fell behind early with the Black team scoring at a medium pace. The lead was cut down with a flourish of scoring by a lone Silver STAR, including a goal with two seconds left in the period. Energized with such a great effort, Silver pulled to within one goal before falling by a score of 7 - 9. Silver easily covered the spread and hit the over with a subbing Matthew Slattery of Slattery Design in net.

Adam Collette - 3 G, 3 SOG, TOI 3:00
The PLARSHMT & OBMASLF are virtually being awarded RIGHT NOW to Adam Collette who scored the only three goals of the first period for Silver. He might have even scored a few more, but since no one usually gets to three goals (let alone in one period versus Black), we usually stop counting there. Although there were only two faceoff wins on the night, the Faceoff Chain is virtually awarded to Coop - clearly Silver needs to make this a point of emphasis in practice over the next few weeks. Congratulations to to Collette and the other stars - two rookies to the Silver team - each getting on the scoresheet.
Stars of the Game
Silver is back in action on Thursday, 13 October at RALSTON Arena at 8:30 PM. Silver will get their first look at the Red team. Silver has dominated Red in most facets of the game over the past couple seasons. Will the trend continue? To find out, come on down to the Ralston Arena, bring the kids! We've got entertainment for the whole family. To commemorate the 62nd anniversary of the greatest home run ever hit, Ralston Arena is celebrating Bill Mazeroski night! A free baseball signed by the 5th place NL central division finishing 2022 Pittsburgh Pirates to anyone who comes within 406 feet of the arena. The home run won Maz and the Bucs Game 7 of the World Series over the Yankees in 1960.
Remember, Dickie Dunn wrote this, so it's gotta be true
