Hockey News! Special Edition Vol: 3.09

This is the 61st posting of the news articles from the Beer and Pretzel Hockey League written by the beat writer that covers the league.  He calls himself Dickie Dunn - his true identity is unknown.

Greetings hockey fans and welcome to another litigated article of Hockey News BPHL: Special Edition Vol: 3.09.  Silver clearly came into the recent game against Black riding high with confidence after their crushing defeat of the Phantoms in the previous contest.  As it turns out, it was supreme OVERconfidence and a Hoggan-less Black easily defeated Silver despite only having five skaters for the entire game (and one of them was Vader).  They brought Silver back down to earth, scoring early and often while cruising to an easy 11 - 4 victory.

The loss put a severe damper on the debut of Silver's SHARP, new sweaters.  Chris "I don't play late games" Schneider also made his debut for the 2020 season after starting the first five games on the PUP-FCP list (physically unable to perform by female counter part list).  More on that story as it develops.

The game also marked the last for Blake Koster in a Silver uniform for the foreseeable future as his trade deal papers were finalized.  The team celebrated his dedication and hard work throughout the seasons with a few post-game barley pops at Winner$.  See you around Ba-la-key!

The Prestigious LA Ross Silver Helmet Memorial Trophy and the Obscure Bryan "Mario" Alexander Silver Lancers Fedora were unofficially awarded to Blake Koster as a lifetime achievement award to honor his time on Silver.  Congrats Blake and good luck with what is next!  The Ag Player Silver Spotlight features one of the newer members to the Silver roster - Matthew Blaszkiewicz - or as he is known around the dressing room, "The Natty Daddy Closer."

"I'm from Chicago - ever heard of it?"

Playing in his sophomore season for Silver, the Closer has come into his own, contributing to many nearly scored goals.  Likely leading the team in "third assists," Blasz needs no assistance in the post-game celebration department, regardless of his residence being several zip codes away.  If you let him, he'll talk about White Sox baseball players the current GM hasn't even heard of yet and curiously came down with an injury when the Chicago Bears were on Monday Night Football - a direct conflict with game time.

That's right, we match the ladies, not a big deal.

The above photograph is a fantastic display of the Closer's dedication to Easter fashion during a prom at Hometown, IL.  It is unclear whether the girl couldn't find a date and had to result to inviting an 8th grader or if the baby-faced senior Blasz is holding a gun to his date's back to make sure she accompanies him - either are extremely plausible.  Maybe he was just afraid to touch her while standing up and facing forward.  Perhaps some questions for the post-game interview tonight.
