Hockey News! Special Edition Vol: 2.23

This is the forty-second posting of the news articles from the Beer and Pretzel Hockey League written by the beat writer that covers the league.  He calls himself Dickie Dunn - his true identity is unknown.

Greetings hockey fans and welcome to another stupendous article of Hockey News BPHL: Special Edition Vol: 2.23.  Silver edged out White by a final of 7 - 5 on Thursday night.  Silver held the advantage the entire game, never trailing in the contest.  It was one of the better games played by both teams, with action going back and forth for all 36 minutes.  In the end, Silver's stellar team defense and excellent conversion of scoring chances (for those not named Blaszkiewicz) made the difference.  Evan Anderson took home the Prestigious LA Ross Silver Helmet Memorial Trophy with a great performance from the blue line, including a Gordie Howe Hattrick.

The game's sponsors were Pizza West and Coors Light, which delivered a delicious large pizza and beer to the winning team's dressing room immediately following the game.  Not there for the winning celebration was team points leader Jeff Harris, who left the game at the start of the third period due to a lower body injury.  The x-rays and MRI were inconclusive and he's considered day-to-day.  The injury couldn't have come at a worse time for Silver with a big game looming next week and playoffs just around the corner.  Here's wishing Mr. Harris a speedy recovery with the help of a little drug cocktail from the league-sponsored pharmacy, Medicine Man.

Silver is slated for another edition of the PRECIOUS METALS game next MONDAY at RALSTON at 8:45 PM.  Silver has moved ahead of Gold in the standings and sits in second place, for now.  It might be as close as they can get with Gold only having one more game against Black for the rest of the regular season (currently 1 - 7 dropping the last 7). Silver only has two remaining games with Gold so the help is going to have to come from Teal and Red if Silver wants to hold on to that second seed.  Remember, Monday night is Dozen Egg night, so bring your friends.

Remember, Dickie Dunn wrote this, so it's gotta be true
